Résumé: This article presents the results of an action research study conducted in Québec and in the French speaking area of Belgium. It centres on a comparative analysis of situations encountered in these two countries on the issue of participation and information exchange between professionals and also between parents of special educational needs children and professionals, on the children entering nursery and primary schools. After a brief presentation of each country’s background and the methodology of this research, we will analyse, with the help of two clinical cases, both the aims and the procedures of participation and exchange set by various regulatory norms.
